Project Management Certification - What's in It for You?

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Delivering results on time and on budget indicates effective project management which, in turn, is a sign of a successful leader.  Project management is a highly regarded certification, and many institutions require or prefer that employees have the Project Management Professional (PMP) credential. Specific education and work experience requirements must be met, and certified project managers must agree to  adhere to a code of professional conduct.  Come hear more about this topic from a librarian who holds PMP certification.  She will speak about her experience studying and working for the certification, keeping it current, and how it’s a value-added bonus to her credentials. You'll also learn about the CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management), an entry-level certification for those new to project management.  We’ll round out the session by hearing from an employer who seeks out and values employees with certification. The Project Management Institute structure provides many great benefits for librarians, and our speakers will add  interesting perspectives on the topic.
